Picked up new truck - 2016 Ram 3500

I got my new truck last night! I picked it up after work, and was more than pleased to return the little Jeep Renagade rental car I was given.

A few first impressions:

  • Brake pedal effort to bring vehicle to complete stop is surprisingly high
  • RIDICULOUS amount of engine power
  • 17.6 mpg so far in mixed city/highway driving
  • Road/engine noise is less compared to former 2012 F-250 6.2
  • Exhaust brake is nice, looking forward to using with the new trailer
  • Info-tainment system contains many impressive features, but can get distracting
  • Built in phone holder is nice
  • Ample storage in cab for "stuff". I was also told by my wife to not let said "stuff" accumulate
  • Backup camera is a must

We should be getting our new trailer sometime next month, it's a Forest River Sierra 371REBH.

    Awesome, white is the best color for a truck in my opinion! If you think you like the exhaust brake now... wait until you have a trailer behind you and its in tow-haul mode. That thing will really scrub speed fast and without much wear and tear on your vehicle at all! Enjoy!

    Woo-hoo, lookin' good, netaq! Very nice! Gotta love that Uconnect 8.4. Wish they offered that in the Tradesman. Yes, the backup camera is awesome. Just love that wide angle view. I can accurately back up within 4" of my garage door everytime.

    You'll get used to the brakes. Just picked up my new Ram 3500 last week after driving a '12 Tundra. Got the same initial impression as you.
