I am looking at one close. is the AISIN really that important. I pull a 29 5th gvwr 12,000. will tow about 6 months. year.
have been talking to west Covina dodge, and he can order a 2016 loaded for about 55000. problem is I want it now
To me the Aisin was an investment, plus it has better gear ratios.
68RFE GEAR RATIOS
Gear:
Ratio:
1 3.23 : 1
2 1.84 : 1
3 1.41 : 1
4 1.00 : 1
5 0.82 : 1
6 0.63 : 1
R 4.44 : 1
AISIN AS69RC RATIOS
Gear:
Ratio:
1 3.75 : 1
2 2.00 : 1
3 1.34 : 1
4 1.00 : 1
5 0.77 : 1
6 0.63 : 1
R 3.54 : 1
Only place the 68RFE is better is in reverse. The Aisin lower 1st and 2nd gears are much better to getting a load rolling. And for resale the Aisin will be a big plus.
It is not really a $2995 option, as the 68RFE is $600. So you are shelling out $2395 extra.
