Yes I'm tall (6'4"). So good catch - 80" bed required.
Why wood framed? Mostly the general feeling of warmth. I've been in both aluminum and wood framed RVs in the winter - hunting in Wyoming - the woods do feel warmer (cool down slower?). Another main thing is wood frame I think flexes a little more than aluminum framed - important for a heavy box in the back of a flexing pickup truck bed. I also think wood framed camper corners may be built heftier than laminated or aluminum framed units. At least check Travel Lite camper structural web-page. I did really like the Adventurer forward head and rear kitchen lounge layout. Open feel important - that's what we loved about our pop-up.
