Plumbing connections for water.

I have never had to do anything with the plumbing and I don't recognise these types of fittings and connections. I noticed a small leak at one of the 90 deg elbows. It looks like these clamps are a crimp type and I'm not sure how to remove them and what to replace with.

  • Cut off the band and then try a hose clamp. If it stops the leak good, if it doesen't then you can replace the fitting.
  • They are PEX crimps.......need crimping tool and bands for replacement

Cut them off using a hacksaw or small wheel grinder diagonally across band...carefully...do not cut into PEX pipe

Bands/tool available at Home Depot/Lowes etc.

You can replace fitting with Sharkbite (Home Depot) or Gatorbite (Lowes) but that means you have t cut all bands off that fitting.....which is what I prefer when having to fix a leak
