Plumbing Problem

So I am camping this week while doing military duty. Came back to the camper this morning after working a 12 hour night shift to find the hard wood flooring in my bathroom area warped up. Found a slow dripping leak on a T connector on my hot water line. I know I have to get it fixed, but am a screwed on the floor? Does it have to be all replaced? I put a fan on it hoping it will dry before I headed to night shift # 2. Turned the pump off and drained the water from the lines.

Hoping the wood may dry out and go back to normal, but that might be wishful thinking.

    Unfortunately, from the OP's description, this is likely the case.

    Laminate and the particle board likely below it soak up water and expand like a dry sponge. But they never 'wring out' and return to the original shape :(

    It's a one-way trip. A little water wipes up, but get it soaked and it most often has to be replaced.

    I have laminate floor in our rig and went through the same problem but after adjusting the flooring it worked out fine.


    In his situation it will have to be replaced. Laminate does not like water.

    Nothing in these campers is real. It should be pretty easy and fairly inexpensive to replace as the local big-box home improvement store should have a bunch of laminates to replace it with.

    Is it hard wood or laminate flooring? I know you have to install laminate as a floating floor and that can be fixed rather than replaced. I don't know if real hard wood is that way or not. Is the flooring panels or strips?

    You guessed right-it'll need to be replaced.
    There was a thread on here just the other day about turning the water off every time you leave.
    Could just as easily have leaked while you were asleep though
    Bummer :(
