If you like to camp,a pop up is a step up from a tent or in my case a pop up trailer.I have a Palomino 800 on a half ton F150 and it suits me fine.
the reasons I have it are
1 my wife no longer camps
2 I wanted something that would fit on a F150
3. I wanted something that I could store in my garage
4 I still wanted to be able to do lite 4 wheeling,
I have been all over Death Valley,the mojove road,the Bradshaw trail
and the Anza Borrego area.
5 the stove,heater and refridge are as good as the larger trailers
I have a porto potty
The down side is you have to like primitive type camping,to keep the weight down
