Portable electric heater

High all,

I am new to the forum so first hello to all.

I have a 2010 StarCraft Travel Star 197RB and I was wondering about getting a type of portable electric heater for use during the fall camping months vs. using the propane furnace to save some money. I live in Michigan so I will use the camper in September along Lake Michigan for salmon fishing.

I also am in the process of finishing a rec room in my basement so I am looking at getting an Edenpure for the basement an thought about using that unit for the camper. I already checked and none of my 120 volt outlets in the camper run through the invertor only the shore power hook up. I am at a loss here and I am looking for a little guidance.

Thanks in advance,

Jason
  • I pretty much agree. I think that a heater that uses 1500 watts is 1500 watts no matter what kind of heater you get. I was always under the impression that an electric heater is 100% efficient being they are using resistance to make heat so whatever you put in you get out unlike a gas fired furnace that expels some heat outside.
  • Might as well go to any retail store that sells portable electric heaters as NO electric heater can exceed 1500W including the Edenpure which means you can buy one for a lot less than what they want for the Edenpure...a lot, lot less
