Well along the south coast using the camper (Northstar Adventurer) is a run from one shorepower plug to the next, so I am shopping for a portable inverter generator. I know the Honda 2000 series are very popular, does anyone have experience with the new Briggs and Straton P2200 PowerSmart inverter generator? Seems to have good reviews and with a 200 watt buffer over the "usual" brands maybe it would be a good alternative? (Also $400 less expensive)
Thanks in advance

The db rating (how loud) is MUCH more important then that 200W buffer. A noisy genset WILL PO the neighbors and drive you batty.
A quick look didn't turn up a db rating, so I am guessing it's not as quiet as the Honda EU. Did a bit more digging and just found the db info;
B&S - 59db@1/4 load, no reading given for full load (= loud)
B&S info buried on this pageBy comparison the Honda is 53db@1/4 load, 59db full load
IIRC a 6db increase is TWICE as loud. So at 1/4 load the B&S is going to sound like the Honda running full bore and who knows how loud it is under max load.
The sales info on the Briggs&Stratton site only states they are quieter then a "traditional" (read noisy) genset and avoid any direct comparison with the Honda. Even when asked the question directly on their Company's Q&A page. Instead they repeatedly state, "Noise testing isn't required by the industry.".
