I think that is the one piece of info we were missing.

I want to thank all that tried to help us. We would need to do this manuever quite often, that one lift would help us very much now and in the future.

I got one of these electric dolly. My trailer is only about 6K, but this does a good job. Sometimes it's hard to get going when the trailer has sat in grass for awhile - but if I just hook up the TV and move it a foot, then this can pull (or push) it through the grass (boat also). I would look into the front mounted hitch if you could, though - these are pricey.

The lawn tractor might work except for the fact that this is on grass, not concrete or such. Not sure I'm understanding why just backing into this area won't work.....if turning is an issue, wouldn't that still be the same with a front receiver and only 10' to maneuver?? Before investing in the front receiver, think I'd have a couple of spotters and give backing in a try. Good luck.

Things roll pretty easy on level ground. I use to push, and pull 4, and 5000lb boats around with a hand dolly. I move pallets with more than a 1000lbs, around with a manual pallet jack.

After all, and electric golf cart will tow a 2000lb trailer with ease.

I own and use, twice a week, a 28hp John Deer lawn/garden tractor and there is no way that thing would carry the tongue weight of a full sized travel trailer like we are talking about here. HP is really is not the concern.

I had a similar situation years ago with a boat. On my Ford Explorer I mounted a hitch in front but it was on a simple piece of flat steel bar abt 3-4 inches wide and long enough to reach a cross member. NO welding nothing. The steel was a piece of scrap! Bingo.

Not arguing. But you would be surprised what a lawn tractor, Not a lawn mower, but tractor, will do. Say a 15 to 25 horse John Deere. Notice the mules that move planes around. not that large.
