All I know is the stock has been doing well and it's paying a nice dividend so I hope they keep it up.
Enjoy it while you can. I am sure all those GM stockholders and GM senior bond holders all would have said the same thing in 2007.
Well, when I bought it they weren't paying a dividend, now it is around 3.5%.
That is fine until you wake up one day and find the shares are worthless. The fact is the GM and Chrysler bailouts changed the rules in the middle of the game. Now the stock and debt of an auto maker must be viewed differently than stock and debt of other industries. Two cliches come to mind. 1. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. 2. Never get bit by the same dog twice. Enjoy your 3.5%, but if it falls apart, you should have seen it coming.
Thanks, I will.
One thing, I never confuse investing and brand loyalty. Doesn't pay.
