Possible purchase: 2007 Keystone Sprinter, 274RLS

Thinking of this trailer. Listed as in great condit w/cold insulation/weather package. I know nothing about the quality of the Keystone brand or the quality of their Sprinter line.

Please post info or links (or pm me) as to their quality.

We're looking for something that will take a beating (like Outdoors RV lines - at this time out of our $ range) so we want to avoid any brand that has frame issues, etc.

  • Re the water coming in with the slide....that is usually eliminated with just installing a slide cover/awning. You'd be surprised at the amount of water that will build up in the awning. After a rain I bring ours in a foot or two and let that water run off, then another foot or two until it's completely emptied. The water actually creates a pool and holds way more than you would expect. The final closure will still have a surprising amount of water. Stongly suggest you have that included if it's not already installed.

Not familiar with the Keystone brand as we're Rockwood folks. Good luck with the purchase and happy camping.

I don't have a Sprinter but I do have a Keystone Springdale and can tell you it has been totally problem free for 5 years.I expected the normal this and that but I haven't had to do a single thing of importance to it since I bought it new.

    And I am a Jayco guy.:B
  • I'll be honest with you.
We had a keystone sprinter 27rlss. It said it had a cold weather insulation package (it was the 10 year anniversary model, 2013 I think). While the tanks never froze while winter camping, the heater ran, alot.

As for durability, we lived in it for six months after owning it for a year. It held up, but things started going wrong. A couple of the light fixtures failed (not the bulbs). We pulled the LR slide in one day and water poured onto our dinette (it hadn't rained in two days). The black tank flush system failed and shot water all over the bathroom. We had a few other minor problems, but all of it happened in the span of three weeks. So we got rid of it. We figured we spent 260 or so nights in the tt, about the same as someone would spend in five years of 'normal' usage. For a vacation and weekend tt, it would be good for about that long, then I would consider getting rid of it.

I don't think it will take a beating like an Outdoors RV tt, though I have no experience with them. Outdoors RV was our first choice, but we couldn't find one within 1000 miles of the east coast. We think our Jayco (previous tt) was better built than our Sprinter.
