The "door sticker" thing is only interesting to a few weight nazis on this forum. I was 1,500 lbs over the much feared "door sticker" for 5,000 miles this summer and my tires didn't explode, the FBI didn't care and my truck ran perfectly fine.
I was still 500lbs under my registered weight. I can promise you most of the hundreds of TCs I saw this summer were bumping max GVWR. Only one or two needed some suspension help.
