Hope Valley is great in October. Fall colors are fantastic! Several lakes nearby. I go every year. By late October, the colors are gone, frost on the ground and maybe snow.
I'd post my sticker, but I think I removed 'em. My '06 Dodge 4x4 diesel shortbed w/crew cab loaded is 5200 Front and 7400 Rear.
Hope Valley in late September last year;
Arrived and set up camp under a full moon
Sunrise bright and clear, not a cloud in the sky
By mid day, clouds roll in
Next morning there's snow on the hills and some on the ground where camped
The trip home over Carson Pass with Elephant Back across Caples Lake
I'd fret over the hijack, but the question has been well answered and it was time for intermission.
