Hi everyone, Looking at getting a diesel truck. Would appreciate your feedback on what you have, and what you get. Please give me a Truck year, make, model, transmission, rear end ratio.Empty MPG, City/Hwy.Loaded MPG City/Hwy. Plus were your at, Mountains, flatland, rolling hills. And a New 2013 NorthStar Arrow 8.5 Love them both expecially the extra storage compartments on the outside of the camper.Now these numbers are winter diesel and that tends to be a little less economy I would assume.Empty 55mph - 15-19Empty interstate 75mph - 12T/C loaded - 9.5 any speedHeres a photo.

Live in the hills of NW Arkansas at 1200 ft.2008 Dodge Cummins diesel 6.7L - 350 HP - 6 speed AutoEmpty back and forth to work: 15.6Empty on the highway - 19 to 22 (according to direction and velocity of wind)Loaded at 11,000 lbs.: City 15 to 16Loaded at highway speed 12.5 to 14 (according to direction and velocity of wind)July 23, 2012 Fayetteville, AR to Broken Bow, OK and back to Fayetteville, AR - 396 miles - I averaged 22 mpg running empty 65 & 75 mph - no wind - and I still have almost 1/2 of the tank of fuel I filled up in Poteau, OK on the way down. Amazed me the fuel mileage because this is the absolute best the truck has ever done. I have averaged 19.8 according to the overhead several times going to Dallas, TX and back.I have hand calculated many times and the overhead is close, but always under by .2 or .3 mpg.Truck has 72,700 miles on it and 2/3 of those were loaded.Pictures are on I-80 Rawlins, WY October, 2011 with a nice tailwind - I never reset the overhead display from the time we left Arkansas to Washington State via Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, Montana, down to Oregon and back home through Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. My fuel gauge, overhead MPG, and speedometer are the most accurate I have ever had.

My truck is the one in my signature an '06 Ford SC longbed automatic 3.73 with the zoodad mod, walker big truck muffler, intake elbow, and I run PowerService Diesel Kleen in every tank.You didn't describe the MPH which makes a lot of difference. In any case, I've got close to 20 at slower speeds of 55-60 unloaded and 14.5 loaded at the same speeds with some hills.My more typical mileage at 65-75 are 18.5-19 and 12-13 with a combination of hills and mountains. I don't really have a clear city mileage since I tend to not drive my truck very far in city.I can't drive very far without dealing with significant hills and mountains considering I live between two mountain ranges in Western WA.

Only figure my milage by how much fuel is used during a trip.Last trip of 6456 miles used 475 gallons of diesel.That's 13.6 miles per gallon.Two weeks of that trip the camper was unloaded so the truck was running around empty.The fuel cost me $1864.66.So the average gallon cost $3.93.Trip was May and June this year. With truck in my sig I'm getting 14-15 around town, and 10.5-12 towing 11.5I. These figures are mostly on the flats. Don't do a lot of hwy miles unless I'm towing.

I have an 02 F250 with 7.3 and 373 rear end. Running empty, at 55mph i get 20 mpg, normal driving running 72 or so I get mid 17s. With fiver in signature at 65 I get between 10 and 11. Truck has 210,000 miles and has had minimum repairs.

Last March I installed the Mini Maxx and 4" stainless exhaust on the truck and mileage went from 10 average loaded to 13. And that was with a new front bike rack with 3 bikes on it. Very happy with the new power and mileage.

Just hit 10.3 mpg after a 2000 mile/15 day camping/photo/exploring trip to central and eastern Oregon. Up from 9.3 after 4 week trip through the US Southwest. I think the addition of a spoiler/air foil (homemade by hubby) under the front of the truck helped. Driving was mostly state highways, county roads, gravel roads, freeways, and several 4x4 one lane rutted rocky roads.

once and a while I would get 9.5 I changed the exhaust and intake and added a diablo predator now 12.5 and sometimes a little over 13

At 60-65 mph I have gotten:

16-18 mpg w/ 8' TC (13mpg once after many miles of switchbacks @ 15-25mph)
12-14 mpg w/ 29' 5er
19-22 mpg unloaded

unloaded I get up to 18 but I don't drive slow enough to see the higher #s.
loaded in heavy winds and/or with a heavy foot we have gotten as bad as 10 but usualy around 14.

I get about the same in my 99 DRW F350, 7.3, 4.10.....I'm 99% sure most people here are FOS.

10.6 mpg after 3300 round trip from Redding, CA to just south of Loreto, BCS Mexico. The truck does fine with non ULSD fuel, 2nd trip.

Kayaks, bikes, 6 cases of american beer!!

05 duramax, 5.13 gears, 4x4, weighing about 19000 pounds with the aerodynamics of a brick wall, travaling typically at 70 mpg and I get 7-8. It can vary a lot of course. If I drove mellow and at 60-62 I can get over 10. Maybe when I am retired and don't have to maximize vacation I can slow down. Pretty good pounds per mile/gallon though :). My Corolla got 30 but weighed about 1/6th what my TC combo weighs so the big rig is more efficient at doing work for each gallon.

Average 85 to 130 nights yearly and several trips across the USA and Canada and Alaska trips also. We are "travelnutz"

I think you're going to be very happy with your MPG's, we sure are and that's why we keep our totally trouble free truck! It's barely broken it now! Fantastic truck!
