Power usage!?
My power bill was $173 last month! I have a shop next door to my TT, but I have barely been out in the shop at all last month, haven't run HVAC or anything at all there. As for the TT, I run the f...

My meter is a so called smart meter , I can log on and see what I used yesterday by the hour of the day if I want to . So no its not a estimated reading.
And no its not a wrong meter.. as I wish it was, the month before that was 351$ ( not as hot ) and month before that 0 as we where not there.
As much as I don't like it, it seems right . 43ft RV with 3 AC units and hotwater heater ( which due to the heat we are not using much of ) a LP/electric fridge ( which on electric use,s a boat load of power but I don't want my wife having to switch bottles as I am out of town a lot ) and a washer / dryer unit , fans , large TV, a teenager who cant keep the fridge closed , etc and the kicker it was 118 deg outside for almost 17 days last month so the AC unit would not even cycle off I had to make them cycle off by shutting them down once in a while. we even tripped the 50 amp breaker once at the RV park
Lets see..
43ft "box" with R5 perhaps if lucky R6 insulation.. CHECK
Lots of single pane glass windows.. CHECK
Living in the DESERT.. CHECK
THREE A/C units running.. CHECK
Water heater set to electric.. CHECK
Fridge set to electric.. CHECK
119 temperatures.. CHECK
Teenager.. CHECK
Metered electric.. CHECK
Should have expected huge electric bills..
I fail to understand as to why you are complaining.. You have no insulation what so ever (I would expect a home in the desert would have at least R40 to perhaps R50 in the roof and R21 in the walls not to mention Low E double insulated windows), the glass on a RV lets a lot of heat in and you are using a energy hog RV fridge plus electric on the water heater.
I don't understand why folks insist on living in a RV then complaining about silly things like electric bills, being too hot or too cold..
If you don't like that electric bill then perhaps it is time to rent a apartment?
