Power windows intermittent ???

Excellent. Wish I'd found that first. I was thinking of jumper-wiring it but as I was putting the truck on the market I didn't want to MM anything up. Oh well.. glad someone can use that.

This is what I found after finding my windows and radio straight wired (on all the time) leading to 2 dead batteries. its a simple fix and by-passes the battery saver all together. Scroll down a little to find directions with pictures. This guy did an excellent write up.

There is one simple solution you can try. Check your owner's manual section on Fuses, and find the relay called "Accessory Delay Relay". It's one of the black cubes in the fuse panel under the steering wheel. You can find them at any auto parts store or truck stop. That may work and it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

For Dodge owners (perhaps Ford) this problem may be related to either a bad/dirty door switch, or for the windows in the rear doors, the wiring as it exits the post and enters the door thru the rubber boot...those wires have a tendency to break, causing an open circuit.... google "switch doctor" for replacement switches at a fraction of dealer cost. It's amazing how much dirt and carbon can build up on those switches....a good cleaning with contact cleaner could be all that is necessary.

X2. First thing to check and maybe cheapest to fix. Like Bedlam posted, check them with a multimeter and go to Radio Shack and pick up a can of electronics cleaner (or whatever the stuff is called that will clean electrical connections). 10 year old vehicle, they might just have a lot of accumulated goop on them................;)

The glass is not binding, windows operate normally 99% of the time. Thanks

You might want to check the grounds and fuses for corrosion.

I had a very similar problem with my 97 F150. It was a relay.

The contacts in your window switches may be going bad. If you're willing to tear into your door panel you can put your meter leads on the switch to check them for resistance when activated.
