Power

I recently went camping in my slide in camper. Had power when I got there. Unhook to go on an errand when I returned hooked back up and had no power. Check the power pole check the breakers on the power pole and in camper and fuses. No luck. Any suggestions?

Yep. She joined the forum the minute before she asked her question. It was resolved by happenstance or advice from here and she disappeared, never to return until she has another befuddlement or wonderment she cannot overcome on her own.

  • I carry a Fluke pocket non contact voltage tester. Size of a ball point pen. I keep it in a drawer in the TC.

This is what I do..I carry an old hairdryer that I use on fan only to check if there is power to whatever.
  • Are RV's at other sites currently powered? It may not be you. Wouldn't be the first time a bunch of RVs pulled down too much power and blew out a campground transformer.
  • Plug something else into the outlet at the pole and see if there is power there.
  • Assuming there is power coming down to the power pole. Not only check, but turn the breakers off, then on in their breaker panel.

Ask your neighbors if they have power. Recently, we were looking, found the main feed to the breaker panel for our feed was about four spots away and had tripped because it was feeding multiple spots. Out neighbor was trying to run A/C while using an electric toaster.
  • Doubtful can help-just too many variables. Sounds like you checked, but not how?
Id turn everything off in camper and breakers, turn off park breakers, unplug and start over. If at park ask to have power pole checked unless you have a means to verify power. Turn on campers AC main breaker, plug camper back in, turn on poles breaker. IF just looking at something to 'come on' to verify power turn on one of the campers AC sub breakers.
