Timely indeed. The cub is on sale for around 1500. I have a 21 rbs, less than 4k lbs but sway has been an issue on the last west coast venture. I dont think pro pride has a new model for that price.
The Cub unit no question is cheaper. On the other hand, please be careful that its tongue weight limit, as I understand, is 600#. For myself, I would only purchase a Cub if: (1) I am very sure that the LOADED tongue weight of my TT, (not the dry tongue weight) after adding propane, batteries, etc., is indeed under 600#, and, (2) I will not be upgrading to a bigger TT down the road. If the answer to either (1) or (2) is no, I would definitely go for a 3P. - LantleyNomad

Forgot about the adjustable stinger on the PP - wouldn't have changed my choice, though, as I haven't found any PP locally used.
If I was buying new, however, the adjustable stinger would probably sway me, as well as the price to the PP.
The adjustable stinger is heavier than the standard stinger. The stinger is the only part of those hitches that you have to handle regularly.
I thought the standard stinger was a heavy greased mess. The adjustable is a heavier greased mess. Don't get me wrong I loved my HA however I don't think I want the stinger to be any heavier.
Unless you tow with multiple tow vehicles the adjustment feature is really not necessary and only adds to the weight.
Yes you may need a different size stinger if you change tow vehicles, but how often do you change vehicles?
I prefer the non adjustable stinger simply because of its lighter size.
Price a side they are basically the same hitch in different colors. - S_K_Explorer

X2 from another very satisfied 3P owner. I also wanted to add that the help and advice that I have been getting from Sean on all my technical questions, even 6 years after I bought the 3P from him, has been unparalleled. This kind of dedication to customers is such a rarity nowadays. - elidodge1ExplorerI have the ProPride and love it,Would I buy one again, In a heart beat
- Keith_HawExplorerI went with the PP for a couple reasons. I liked the adjustable stinger and felt the fixed yoke design was a better safer setup. That's just my opinion.

Hensley says they have a trade in program where, if you get a different vehicle or trailer, you can exchange the "hitch bar" at no cost....is the stinger different than the hitch bar?
That is partly true. First, the exchange program is only good for the original owner. Second, you give a deposit of $200 and they send you a stinger. You're money is refunded when you send your old stinger back so technically no cost. But, the cost is in shipping. You still have to pay to ship the old one back. For me, shipping from Canada is very expensive. Plus it is heavy.
My local dealer will exchange for $120 which is not far off the above cost. - cruz-inExplorer

I have a Hensley but if I were buying new would probably go with the PP just for the adjustable stinger. I've had to swap 3 stingers (every time i got a new tt or tv) at considerable cost.
