Progressive Dynamics Inc Converter blowing battery fuse

I had a similar problem, called my service person and was told that the only thing that would blow that fuse (bottom one, brown) was the cables were switched on the battery. Sure enough, I connected backwards but my neg, cable was red so I don't feel that stupid. My battery has a 40 amp fuse and found them at an auto parts store.
