Progressive Industries PT30C Questions

So, I'm torn between just plunking down money for the cheep Camco Surge/Circuit checker or taking a chunk of my tax return for the PT30C.

I know you get what you pay for but I'm scared of someone walking off with a $250 investment just hanging out on the pole (Hard wiring and rewiring my shore line to hide it inside is not an option). How do you secure your Surge protector? I know it's got the lock ring but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out the best way if I do make this investment.

I wouldn't bat an eye at losing the camco model.

    I have the 50A portable.

    For 7 yrs we FTd..........100's of various places with it hanging from power pedestal.

    No locks no chains nothing cause my 50A power cord detaches from rig receptacle so even IF I locked the PI to my cord they could just unplug at both ends and be gone.

    Several folks have made straps that can be locked. And hopefully they will post.

    I'm the other end ..........Insurance

    As for which unit.......
    The PI Unit covers/protection is must better than Camco with lifetime warranty so it IS the unit to purchase,
