Wow! Thanks for all the responses. I learned a ton! What a great site.
I do plan on adding solar to the TC, as well as a Honda 2000 generator.
Wife and I are just starting out in a TC. We have been camping out in a 2000 Tacoma with a shell for a few years. Before that we were in cots under the stars. Really, I don't think we will get cold enough to discourage us- the TC is a huge step up! We are just ready to be more comfortable in our old age (early 50s, lol.) I'm just a "pay cash as I go" person. Habits are hard to shake.
This trip will be a shakedown cruise. If the TC battery dies, oh well! We'll live
But the long range plan is to slowly upgrade, as we figure things out, and more fully enjoy camping. The replies I received from you guys far exceeded my expectations! I really can't thank you enough.
You guys are going to wind up saving me a ton of dough and make the process le$$ painful.
