I recently purchased a 2006 Franklin Ranch wagon 5th wheel. I am testing the factory installed propane furnace. Everything works fine except I noticed the flame is about 2" high and is yellow. I know that a good propane flame should be blue in color with very minimum yellow flame. I have asked a few campers about this and they all say its a fuel/air mixture problem. I am the 2nd owner of this 5er. The first owner bought it and had it delivered directly to a campground. That is all the towing this 5er has had. The furnace looks like its brand new and used minimally. I was told that it was only used as a seasonal get away.
So to get to my question: What is it that I can do to get this flame blue and do away with the large yellow flame ? Any and all replies are welcome !!
Should I hook a shop vac up to the heat/air vents outside and use the vac on blower setting to blow the furnace out to rid it of any unwanted dust/bugs etc ?
Could it be my regulator ? My propane lines ?
Has anyone ever experienced this problem ? I'm quite sure that there are a lot of us that have seen this before. Please reply with what you did to fix the flame color.
Thank you
