Hello all,Looking for input.I am looking for a new (or lightly used) trailer and we are looking at the larger units. (i.e. 324BHTS Jayco Eagle).A friend told me he would be concerned about having a slide in the kitchen area and that the motion of the slide back and forth would create extra wear on the gas and plumbing connection, which could lead to problems down the road.For those who owned (or previously owned) RV's with slideouts in the kitchen, is this something I should be concerned about? Concerned enough to choose one without the slideout in the kitchen?My wife really wants the extra counter space of the island, but I'm concerned as I would be the one fixing stuff... ;)

We have not had any issues with ours.

On my trailer, the slideout includes the dinette and the fridge. I've had no issues with the fridge, Four years old now. Worst case, I might have to replace that flexible propane hose at some point. I suggest get the floorplan you like, and then just deal with whatever comes up.

We haven't had any problems with a kitchen slide and your concerns. What I don't like and don't want in a kitchen slide is a refrigerator because I don't want all of that extra weight in the slide.Bill

No issues with kitchen slide on mine also.

No problem with our kitchen slide. I have also looked at all the plumbing, electrical, gas fittings and see no problem with the slide being moved in and out.

Two kitchen slides. One side with a residential fridge, among other things. Other side has sink, dishwasher, micro and cooktop. No issues with weight, venting, waterlines or electric.

One issue to think about is if you want the fridge in the slide, then the fridge vents out the side instead of out the roof. Often the slide fridges include fans to move the air.

On the other hand, I have never seen issues with propane lines and slides in years of looking on here.

10 years, no gas problems. Hose is hose. I did have ro replace the accordion the hose rides on once.
