From safety point......don't turn it or fridge off when sleeping or when leaving RV.
They have safety features built in.
X2. I don't turn off my fridge while camping, while would I turn off my water heater.
As for noise, I don't find it loud during the night whether I'm inside or outside. And it only runs 10 minutes or less every several hours. Mine is also at the rear of my clipper so the noise is not directed towards my neighbors.
