Question About RV Shows? What's there and What's Not?

Went to the Kansas City RV Show for the first time about a month ago. 1st RV Show I had been to, I wasn't surprised to see all sizes of RV's, and they had several. What I was surprise about was not seeing vendors selling stuff for the RV's like hoses, mats, chairs, etc., in other words GADGETS for the RV's. Is this the norm or is this just the way this show is set up. They didn't have very many vendors at all.

Just wondering, Thanks for any info ahead of time.
  • We were at the Florida RV Supershow in Tampa in mid January had dozens of booths were set up with membership parks, accessories, add-ons, "gadgets," and insurance. Smaller shows perhaps not so much.
  • Heading to the Springfield,Mass show this morning. I love going and being able to dream a little and constantly say to my wife, "some day". But our main purpose of going is to visit all the campground vendors. There are a few that offer a one night for free. So we make sure to grab those every year!
  • I went to the Tampa RV show, it's huge and there were hundreds of vendors selling about anything you could imagine. Went Friday to the Richmond VA RV show and was pretty disappointed. There were a lot of RV's but very few accessory and related vendors.
  • Well we just got back from the Houston RV show yesterday was our first time attending an RV show.

We were surprised there were not more vendors selling miscellaneous
    RV parts and supplies.
  • I think that it is a function of the vendor fees charged. A small vendor selling a unique item can not show a profit.
  • Saw a lot more RV accessories, gadgets & gear at the big Hershey, PA show than at the Washington, DC one. Looks to be a function of size, from what I've seen.
  • You should come to Quartzsite. AZ for the January show. Hundreds of vendors.
    Warm winter temperatures as well.
  • It all depends on the show that year and where it is. Some shows are bigger and the chances of at least a couple of dealers setting up an accessory sale are better. But at any show in any given year, the number of dealers participating may vary as well as products and accessories available for sale.
  • All the RV shows up here (Greater Toronto/Niagara ON area) have an parts and supply store, as well as lots of 10'x10' booths that sell everything, from useless (IMHO) to insurance, campground sites and even food.
