Gary, Ive been through the same game, But incresing for tire cap does nothing for you, because the 16x6.5wheels are only rated for 3040. I ended up getting Alcoa 16x7 wheel, rated for 3750lbs and going with 265/75/16 tire at 3415lbs. With air bags, sway bar and KYB monomax shocks, my 2500HD does very well with my 3800lb Lance.
