HI: Here is what I have done with my 2500HD GMC. Just some more information you may find useful. A major consideration for me was to control rock and roll off road. I am now on my second set of 285/16/R75s (3750lbs at 80psi) with no issue using the stock PYO forged aluminum 16X6.6 wheels (wt rating not published by GM, but factory feedback indicates they are good to 3800lbs: PYO wheel capacity). The following links document my "evolution" in suspension and other upgrades, as well as some information on true life camper weight...Terry
Initial modifications and camper weight
Goodyear Silent Armor Tires
Additional truck mods (ignore the trip report, the mods are at the front of the post)
I finally installed Maxloader overload springs that solved off road rock and roll Maxloader homepage
I left my airbags installed, so I can level the truck from side to side with the camper loaded, if needed – the drivers side is heavier than the passenger side. I also had to remove the Stable Loads, since they cannot be fitted with the Maxloaders installed. Installing Maxloaders will raise the rear end of the truck about 1-5/8 inches, since a four leaves Maxloader spring pack is 15/8 inches thick. A set of 4 leaves Maxloaders, with new longer U-bolts (supplied), weigh about 108 lbs installed, which is lighter than the 125 lbs the 4 leaf top-load overload spring set was going to weigh.
