Good choice, you're doing the right thing imo. Sorry about the price. Takeoff 3500 SRW wheels were MUCH cheaper back in 2007.
As Terry and others note, oversize tires can be used on 16x6.5 wheels. However for all the big tires I've checked, manufacturers recommend wider wheels.
