Question on dual cams

I am wondering if my receiver has another hole on the other side for a second friction bar. I kept the ball plate that mounted on the tongue of my old trailer. My new trailer came with one on it already.

The thing that I like about the dual cam is that it is one less thing to hook up...maybe I'm just lazy...

Once you get the dual cam installed and set up properly you will really like it. Then you will ask yourself why you waited so long. When I had a travel trailer that was the best investment I ever made for towing comfort.

Yes! Those bars have the crooks built in for DC already.

But, I'm going to give you the same heads up I got when I tried dual cam... You may find that the ride of the trailer is...about the same as with a friction bar set up... Especially if you are running two bars.

If you are running one friction bar and your trailer is over 26 ft you should be running two bars. Most of the time running a second bar will take any remaining wiggle out of a well set up WD hitch.

I personally had a situation where DC did not work for me. My trailer was too low to the ground and the cam bars would drag the ground occasionally. I also found that my Tow was the same with two friction bars as my DC ... IMHO adding a second bar is much cheaper and will probably take the little movements you have now away.

The picture was my storage technique to keep them off the ground and from getting kicked around. I made a bracket and everything to mount them on the trailer. This was on our 2007 Cherokee, we have since upgraded. (this was the only picture I could find of the bars. :C

I just saw an advertisement for the type of bar I have. This might work!

It is a Reese. The connection at the ball is different than on some of the videos I've watched. The 'L' bar type not the what I would call 'T' bar type.

It doesn't matter what rating of Reece round bars you already have, the DC kit is the same.
