If your planning on kids don’t skip on a trailer with bunks. Setting up the couch every night would be a pain. Plus just getting my up early and tiptoeing around the kids would get old fast. You won’t be putting them in a tent until they are at least 12-13 anyway. So why suffer for all those years wishing for a different trailer.
Do it right the first time and get what you think you will need later, not what you need now.
I started out the same as you. With a twin bed and front living room Award trailer. After a year we upgraded to a 28 ft super slide with bunks. And then a few years later to our current quad bunk trailer.
