Questions for Northern Lite owners

Just looked at a 2005 Northern Lite 10-2 SE I'm considering for purchase, and have a few concerns. First, there is crazing of the gel coat that runs parallel to the raised area of the roof with the AC on it. Water leaked in at the canopy on the side and slightly damaged the wall board next to the sink. The compartments for batteries and propane have vented doors that let in water that looks to have rotted the plywood beneath these areas. And lastly, the floor of the basement is wet (from condensation says the owner)but does not appear rotted (yet).
My question is, has any of this caused structural damage? Is the basement plywood a support, or is it laying over an encapsulated floor? Any thoughts from you NL owners?

  • Check out the NL owners forum, there's a few thread's where people had those issues. Good luck in your search, there great campers.

If you can head across the border, with the price of our dollar now it is a big benefit to you to shop here.

  • I am a HUGE fan of NL's but I would stay away from this one unless you are planning to do what could be a lot of work (see below). Too many problems that could each be a real pain to fix and repair the unseen issues.

That being said if they are selling for under $5000 it could be a good fixer upper if all the appliances and shell are in good shape and you want to do the work.
