I am thinking the problem with most RV ovens is that the burners are a "U" shape. So more gas is burned and more heat is generated at the bottom of the "U".
This, or course, creates the hot spot at one end.
It is the same setup in in many outdoor grills. That is why I look for either grills with a "H" burner, or multiple straight line burners parallel to each other.
So a stone should help any gas oven with a U shaped burner..
