quick question on using stone in oven to prevent burning

I have read that you can use tiles or a cookie stone in the oven? I have a nice cookie stone that fits in there perfect. my question is where do I place it? obviously I would place it above the flames...

X2 Haven't found anything better yet, tried the stone and the pizza thingy, nothing compared to the air bake sheet for us...
