quick question on using stone in oven to prevent burning

I have read that you can use tiles or a cookie stone in the oven? I have a nice cookie stone that fits in there perfect. my question is where do I place it? obviously I would place it above the flames, but do I set it on top of the grid? or below the grid right ontop of the flame and put the grid on top of the stone and then cook on the grid? just wondering how others do it..thanks

  • you put it underneath the flame wally???? the flame on my oven is in middle of oven
  • When we had an oven we placed it on the metal at the bottom of the oven and just left the tiles there. It helped to disperse the heat and prevented burning on the bottom of cakes, cookies, rolls etc.
  • actually, I think I just found my answer. I have looked up pictures online, and I see most put the cookie stone on top of flame and put the grid on top the stone.. and then put food on the grid. looks like I will do this, except when wife bakes cookies she will take the grid out and cook the cookies right on the stone itself....
