Even the all hallowed Honda's are noisy if your anywhere close by or if you aren't getting the power from one.
For some reason when your the one benefiting from the power the noise isn't too bad.
30 couple years of camping. NEVER hooked up to a generator. When we go off grid. I'm ready, and no electricity is required, or needed. that is what propane is for.

Everybody does their own kind of camping and nobody's is better than anyone else's - as I'm sure you would agree.
Some of us have bigger needs for power and have to rely on more than solar.
When I go someplace where I need power. I go to a full hookup CG. All the power I want, and waaaaaaaay more quiet than a generator.
BTW. I don't use solar either.
