I have a 2015 with the rear coils. I can honestly tell you that it rides way better than my 2010 Tundra did. It is very smooth and compliant over little bumps and cracks, whereas the Tundra with the leaf springs would jump more. I find the Ram to be a very comfortable riding truck.
I have the diesel and average about 18 with mixed (mostly in town) driving. That was substantially better than my Tundra. On the highway I am getting 21-22 mpg at 75 mph. That is WAY better than my Tundra.
My friend has a 6.4 and his mileage isn't as good as the diesel, but it is still pretty good for a big V8. When it comes to towing, the 3/4 ton will allow you to upgrade down the road. I loved my Tundra (despite its rougher ride and lower mileage), but my new trailer and new boy exceeded the payload on the Tundra. I upgraded out of necessity, but it will give you a lot more leeway than a heavy half will.
