The coils ride surprisingly well. Normally, if buying new, the obvious choice would be a 1 ton instead of a 3/4 ton. The ride of the coil suspension is very smooth and handles rough roads, train tracks, expansion joints, etc so much better than leaf springs do. It makes it a harder choice between a 3/4 and 1 ton Ram. I know you can get air suspension on the 1 ton, but that drives the price differential even higher.
