when test driving, I find the most horrible road a reasonable distance away I can take the vehicle. I jostle the vehicle to make sure I like it. I even find some horrible speed bumps to drive over. That'll do it justice enough and if you test drive nearly back to back, you can get a good comparison between vehicles and figure out which one suits you. The trick is consistency. Take your own route, not what the dealer determines as your best route.
