I liked the 2500 Ride better than the 3500. That being said, if you need or will need the payload in the future go with the 3500. Also know that the 2500 with the 6.4 is rated at 10,000 GVW and the 5.7 is rated at 9,000 GVW.
My 2015 2500CC with the 6.4 is rated for 2999 Lbs per door sticker. If I was going with a diesel I would opt for the 3500 because the additional weight of the motor and tranny = reduced pay load.
