Ram 3500 2011 to a 2016 Ram 3500

So excited to try the new truck out for truck camper hauling duty.

New truck has a lot more power than my 2011. Also seems a lot beefier in the frame, transmission, axles etc... 14K GVW.

Both my 2011 and 2016 are Laramie Black on black 4*4 with 4.10 gears, but lots of little new cool stuff, Navigation and instrument panels are a lot better.
  • No one will know you got a new truck. They look the same.
They even have the same mud flaps.:B

    Nice, congrats.
  • Heheh, yah, I know, I know...

I'm trying to get outta here in a few weeks, never thought this might be a delay.. I'm sure they can work out something, but...

    Nerf bars...
Now using a climbing harness... heheh, could certainly use one, a giant step for mankind... LOL..

    It's always something eh?

    Happy Trails...
  • I have a late 15 3500. The rear hold downs off my 2006 fit perfect.
The front hold downs for the 2015 were a little problem. The Left front fit perfect, but the RF there is a bump on the frame that moved up like 1/4" and it did not fit. if I had a milling machine I could have fixed it.
Torklift said they have been starting to see this problem and sent me a different RF that clamped onto the frame. It worked great.
  • Yep, nerf bars, real quick.... wife want them and my 9 year old NEEDS them, I'm having to lift her in :)

Bummer is we usual camp once every three weeks until Christmas and can't schedule anything until we've got the Torklift setup on it.
  • Great looking truck, like the interior set up, sweet...

Yah, 2016... Torklift is still in working on it...

I wanted the "nerf bars" so I could at least get into the cab, (RAM 5500) and they didn't have anything that would work. (Dealer had them, but didn't really like how they looked).

Also, tried the Super hitch but they still only had '15s but they might be able to "Try" to make it work on a Cab/Chassis.

I was having a flatbed put on and figured I could have the mfg put the superhitch on, but on close detailed look, it would take too much to mod it. Something about "cross bar" lengths/widths, so had to canx the order...

Next week, I'll be going for the Camper tie-downs... hopefully, with the flat bed, they'll be able to work with it...

So, yep, I feel the pain on the '16s... wait and see..

    fun?.. nope,
    Anxious?, yep...

really liked the interior, my only regret on the 5500..

Thank you. Really excited about it.
  • my 2016 was ordered as soon as ordering was allowed. Was also the first 2016 received and sold by my dealer.
  • Received this email back from Torqlift, might have to wait a little while for tie downs......

    Good Morning Elliot,
Thank you for your inquiry and support. I appreciate you for allowing me the opportunity to assist you. Currently, we have not yet had the opportunity to test on this specific truck. We rely on our local dealer partners to allow us to test and design on the new trucks when they are released and unfortunately this truck has not yet been made available in our area to test on. Dodge, usually, from previous years, releases their truck later in the year. I would check back in about a month and we should have a better idea of when we will see their new trucks hitting our local lots. I hope this has been helpful and please let me know if I can further assist and we look forward to hearing back from you. Have a wonderful day.
