Some folks just use a pillow, but with my lousy back I wanted/needed more than that, so went up to an SLT with the electric adjustable lumbar. We bought off the lot and also ended up with the SLT Lux option which has several nice features (fancy display with current gear displayed, leather wrapped steering wheel, ...)
It is an adjustment that is lacking in the Tradesman trim. My XL trim did have the lumbar adjustment and I feel that Ford's base seats are better overall than Ram's.
