I didn't think they timed the run down the hill, just up. Going down they just count brake applications, when the truck hits 60 they brake and slow it down to 50 then release the brakes and let the truck do its thing till it hits 60 again.
In the videos going up you can see them start the clock as they pass a sign on the entrance ramp.
