Ram is indeed shaking things up, but the 2 way fan has been around for years. The newer Rams are the best looking things out there now, and the quality has improved drastically. As a gasser guy for now, the 6.4 interests me and I enjoy reading the posts about them. Have fun with the new truck.

Not sure on it's purpose. I was thinking maybe to make the A/C colder when engine RPM is low like sitting at a light - but I'm just guessing. Come to think of it, maybe it comes on under WOT too. At high RPM in my video, when the trans shifts, it sounds like a fan was at high speed then slows/turns off when the trans shifts, and it doesn't match engine RPM.

I have to check my buddies 2014 1500 Hemi to see if his has the same fan.

I'm sending in my paperwork to buy the lifetime "Max Care" (or whatever the top of the line one is) within the next 24 hours. Things like this are exactly why :)

I use to do all kinds of things to vehicles. Now days I wouldn't even know where to start. And I get the feeling that even if I did know where to start I couldn't afford the things I'd need to fix what was wrong. Lots of moo-lah for parts and an equal amount for the guy fixing it.

Incidentally, the cooling stack is in this order front front (grill) to back (engine):
- PS fluid cooler
- A/C condenser
- Trans fluid cooler
- Engine coolant radiator

Is the electric fan in operation when the engine isn't under heavy load, and might that be a fuel economy measure?

Dude you have a new truck, all is well. It is a nice touch to prevent overheating. I had a GM dually that had a set up like that one time. The big 3 have really come up with some nice gas engines the last couple of years

IB. I think your truck is awesome! I love how Ram is rethinking things like this and really shaking up the pick up market.
