Thousands and thousands of pickup trucks go into fleet service up-fitted with boxes, gear and towing needs with no break-in miles. My F250 came home, I installed our 5th wheel hitch and we hit the road with just over 100 miles on it. At 80k miles, it's still like a new truck. I would recommend following the owners manual on break-in but personally I've never had a problem with loading it up and taking it easy (60~mph) the first 500.
