Not sure why everyone is so worried about the mileage. If I was buying a truck with a 7+ liter V8, I don't think gas mileage is going to be my first concern.

True! And, guess what my 5.4 L gets towing my trailer? like 8-9 mpg. And trust me, it works while towing. The difference in mpg while towing with any gas engine really doesn't seem to be that much with most combinations.trail-explorer wrote:

It's a tow vehicle. Who cares what the MPGs are. Its job is to "do work" other than a commuter car.
A lot of people care about mileage. If you are towing an RV 3 times a year, probably not a big deal. But people who tow for a living or full time, the difference in 10 mpg versus 12 is a huge deal. Or people like me that have a 26 gallon tank, makes driving through remote area much better, easier to find a gas station.parker.rowe wrote:

It's a tow vehicle. Who cares what the MPGs are. Its job is to "do work" other than a commuter car.- I like the option of a larger powerful gas motor. I don’t want the associated hassles of the newer diesels.
If I weren’t starting to shop for a DP I would be looking at a Ram Mega Cab with a gas motor. - Same mpg and more power. Sounds like a winning combo.

Yeah, but we can't buy your best evah F350 or your unycorn 3500 Denali Suburban, so the rest of us have to stick with the lowly mass produced options.......

Hmmm, I'm quite happy with the mileage that my truck gets, which is better than my Ford 6.0L, which was better than my 1996 7.3L....;)
I believe they are talking about a gas engine.
