I have a 12 ST (Tradesman) 2500 CTD. For me it's just right. Only issue is, no telescoping steering wheel. But I'm not sure how far of the trim level you have to go to get one. I wish I had a bit more bling inside as far as the door/dash trim goes but that's just bling and doesn't make it any more comfortable.
As far noise I can't compare to the SLT and up. Plenty quiet for me.
Interesting though as I came form a 2010 F150 XLT with power seats, I find the non power ST seats more comfortable. Didn't like the seat base on the Ford.
My ST has the power/chrome options too. JMO but the Ram Tradesmans when optioned with the chrome and power are one of the best bang for the bucks trucks.
