- dshelleyExplorerIt seems many who change from one brand to another often feel the need to trash talk the others in order to "reinforce the decision". No problem, we understand.
 - B_O__PlentyExplorer IIJust trying to reinforce my decision to get rid of the piece of junk 2010 Ram that I had....I hope the Dodge boys are as happy as I am with my Chevrolet...
B.O. - Here's some information on the FCA buy back.
Buy Back Recall
In addition RAM has released 4 more recalls last week.
Recall 1
Recall 2
Recall 3
Recall 4 - patriotgruntExplorerObviously every manufacturer has recalls. That's part of the business. Chrysler's problem is its financial management along with recalls. Both combined leave the average customer with a bad taste in their mouth. Recalls are going to happen especially during initial redesigns or product release. Chrysler's latest recalls our much larger than product refinement but instead suggest total design flaws. Daimler didn't do Chrysler any favors in those regards.

Chrysler should be out of business but every time it resorts to bankruptcy, the government steps in and bails them out. Right now FCA is wanting to merge with GM which GM executives believe is another bailout. Both Fiat and Chrysler have quality control issues along with a poor reputation for product reliability. Many people have had older Chrysler products where they dash was cracked, paint was flaking off, and transmission needed to be rebuilt.
Out of the three Chrysler products I've purchased, two of them had significant mechanical issues. First was a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had its transmission rebuilt three times before I unloaded it for a Ford Explorer. Second was a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 which is now subject to a manufacturer buyback. Both products were traded in before the manufacturer announced recalls to fix the issues.
I've always liked Chrysler but I've never had good luck with them.

Funny GM has the same issues along with Ford. My lemon law replacement truck from Ford had the paint blow off the hood two freaking days after I picked it up! Our 6 year old Oldsmobile's dash cracked right down the middle and we live in Ohio! I have replaced more engines in GM productsthen Chrysler or Ford combined along with TH350 transmissions. Does that make me afraid to buy a GM,hell no. BTW the employee's of Chrysler and the UAW loaned Chrysler the money back in the eightis not the US Gov. All the government did was back the loan. Do some research before you make redickuless comments.

Why does he care how the recalls at FCA are going. Hell he should worry about all of GM's recalls and not worry about something that does not affect him.

I will add if FCA is such a joke and builds junk why all the posts. I mean if we are so bad it should only be weeks before we are out of business right? - wing_zealotExplorer

It's a conspiracy dodgeboy. Either that or FCA couldn't find a big enough plug to fix the front end. Maybe FCA should have been negotiating in English rather than Italian. You sound like your whining; are you?B.O. Plenty wrote:
So when it's all over and done...this whole thing was pretty much a lot of hype and not much substance...Maybe it forces Fix It Again Tony, to finally have the parts available for the steering recall. I waited over a year to get my old Ram fixed...then traded it off for a Chevrolet. Yes I'm happy.

Yep because GM is doing so much better with their recalls right BO? Somehow they got the clowns in Washington to sign off on them only having to put a plug over the key ring hole instead of replacing the switch. Their reasoning was they couldn't get enough switchs for all of their unsafe vehicles that are out on the road. Glad you are happy with your new truck.
Don - Cummins12V98Explorer IIIOn my 11 RAM it had the washer bottle recall and tie rod recall, received notices on both and had the dealer fix each one on separate occasions. Had the fuel heater recall but let the dealer take care of it after I traded on current RAM. So for me the recall process was quick, painless and efficient.
