- larry_barnhartExplorerwith all of the air products that are made today it surprises me this system is having a problem. Lincoln had the air suspension years ago with out success but I never knew it's problem. Friend had a 550 ford with rear air but it still rode like a tank so he was happy thinking what would it be with out the air. Interesting story but NC is correct on thinking he doesn't need it so buy the new truck and be happy. happy is a good thing. Not much to be happy about in real life now.

I was planning on getting one this fall with the rear air 3500.
Yeah kind of sucks.... But I think we saw the writing on the wall for some time now.
I don't know, maybe the guy that posted on here that stated he HAS a 3500 with the air susepension system will come back on here and try again to convince us he does have it, though I've not heard from him for a while and he never showed up on the cummins forum to tell others of this miracle..
what was the wrting on the wall? When did the writing on the wall appear? Just curious, it's alway's very interesting when one can glean from an "insiders" knowledge of a major manufacturer..... Cummins12V98 wrote:

With the push of a button, drivers can select from two smart ride height selections, Payload and Trailer, with automatic electronic adjustments to maintain a level load. And within the frame-mounted compressor, tank and lines, it's all done in relative silence

Heck, You and Rick need to buy one anyway, get the 4:10 with the Aisin and you'll never miss the airbags....It'll blow your mind how these newer Rams tow.....:)
The 2014 Ram with the 68 tranny, and 3:42 will blow their minds how they tow, with just a meager 800 ft lbs. - larry_barnhartExplorer

Troller, I am surprised that you don't know someone who has had trouble with the system.
Me too.... But I did ask my cousin :B last Christmas if and when he thought these trucks were going to hit the lots. He had no idea and no training, but he did mention it was going to be interesting how the air bags were going to hold up with all the gravel roads in his area. His concern was gravel getting caught between the rubber housing (for a lack of a better term) and the metal pads it sets on.
