Rancho 9000 remote systems

I called Rancho yesterday and they said both remote control systems for the 9000XL adjustable shocks have been discontinued. They had an in-cab push-button setup with gauges, and another system with a wireless remote.

They would not state why they pulled them from the market. Some dealers still have some sitting on the shelf.

Anybody have the remote setup and can tell me why I WOULDN'T want one?

Was looking to purchase a Myride system and just found out it was discontinued, any chance you would still have this?

    Sent you a pm.
  • I've got one of those wired combination air bags and air shocks (RS 9000X's) control in the truck cab and I have a small leak somewhere in the shocks side. I have reatatched those little air supply hoses a number of times before however, this time they are atatched and no leaks have been detected with the soap and water solution. You don't suppose one of the shock cylinders could be the culpret, do you?
  • UPDATE
About 3 weeks ago, the control unit for my MyRide system stopped working... After 7 years of reliable performance and in the middle of a year-long road trip :( Not sure what the issue was, but it definitely could have been caused by air leaks
Fortunately I had the manual adjustment knobs in my spare parts kit and swapped them out in a parking lot in Albuquerque NM.
I had a new complete (backup) MyRide system in my shop at home just in case this issue ever came up, but I now doubt that I'll go through the effort to install it.
Anyway, it was great while it lasted.
PM me if you have questions.
    Cheers

  • Wow.... odd that this thread was still able to be posted to. The old rule (forum configuration) locked a thread after 1 year of no activity (I thought anyway)

If you have Rancho 9000's, YOU WANT ONE! I have the "MyRide" with wireless remote and it has always worked flawlessly.
That said, they are expensive, require a bit of effort to install, and because they are electro-pneumatic there is always the chance of an air leak or other electrical/mechanical failure.

  • I've had one of the non wireless setups for several years - I'm always chasing leaks. I'll probably remove it next time I change shocks (on my second set of 9000XLs and they're about shot). By now I know I can just leave the rears at 9 and the fronts at 7.
  • The only problem I've ever heard about is leaks, though they were rare.

I suppose the sales decreased to the point where they didn't see the point in continuing production of it.
  • I have the 9000s on one of my trucks and like them. I have only heard of small leaks in the tubing/orings for the air pressure that cause aggravation. I do not have the remote control since it's not very difficult to reach under the truck to adjust the shocks.

Could those leaks be the problem?
