Rancho 9000XL model number for 2012 Dodge 3500 Dually

I am trying to add some support for my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually so I can load an Eagle Cap 1165 that I am buying and one of the things I wanted to do was put on Rancho 9000XL's on the front and rear with the wireless remote. The problem is I cannot find a model number for the front or the rear that is listed for the 2012 and have talked to Rancho as well with no results. They say that the 2012 hasn't been checked out by them for Rancho 9000's yet so they don't have a model number recommendation. Has anyone out there had this done yet and what were the model numbers you used on the front and back to do it if so.

On a Dodge I'd have no idea. I can tell you that on my Ford, the sway bar mounts in FRONT of the rear axle rather than behind, so no hitch clearance issues.
Size wise, it simply was thicker, the length/width was unchanged, so it fit in perfectly where the old one came out of. Cleared exhaust and driveline no problem.

  • So I found the correct model numbers but I find that Rancho doesn't sell or warranty the wireless controller anymore. I don't want to have to adjust the shocks like I did on my old Ram so I am looking at Firestone's self leveling system R4 Tech. It comes with airbags and rear Rancho 9000's that the system maintains. Had anyone out there ever tried this system with a heavy camper. I have an Eagle Cap 1165 being built that I will be carrying.
  • Slightly off-topic, but I also have the 9000's, and in addition to those I also put on a Roadmaster Anti-Sway bar in the rear.

I did have a stock bar, but between the new shocks and the upgraded bar, my truck handles almost as good loaded as it did before empty. The difference was absolutely amazing. I would honestly say the same as when I went from SRW to DRW. Hellwig also makes one, but the Roadmaster is much larger.

Just something for you to think about....
  • Hi ETNK,

Look forward to your postings. I have just taken delivery of 2012 Ram 3500 Longbed DRW Crew Laramie. Just driving from Sydney to Perth, Australia, right now. Home in 3 days, trip is 3,970
    Kilometres.

I was thinking of putting on Super Springs & Helliwig Big Wig, for the rear and Rancho 9000xl's
    Front & rear.

I had a 2011 Chev 2500hd Supercab diesel Longbed, which was sensational, but this 2012 Ram 3500hd, seems very very firm. See profile below.

Some on this forum, Sleepy, in particular, that have very heavy campers like Eagle 1160/1165,
    And say wait and see.

Check the search box on this forum for Eagle 1160 forums/owners and go to Eagle Cap Owners Forum.

My 1160 is being built in July.

Will watch your posts with great interest.
